HVAC.Accountant exists for one reason: most HVAC owners learn whether last year was profitable long after they could have done anything about it. We give them a short monthly read of the operating numbers that drive profit, explain what moved, and help them decide what to change. That is the whole job.
The company
HVAC.Accountant is part of the Sedighi.ca and SAZ.ca group of companies. It is a Canadian business, headquartered in Vancouver, British Columbia, and it works with heating and cooling companies across the country.
- Sedighi.ca is the parent: Ali's own growth, marketing and technology consultancy. On a dashboard you might picture it as the top line, with HVAC.Agency, HVAC.Digital, Trades.Agency, BusinessConsulting.ca and Conv.ca as the brands beneath.
- SAZ.ca (Strategy & Acceleration Zone) is the group's Canadian strategy firm, working on AI and revenue acceleration; Ali started it and remains its Founder & Managing Partner.
- HVAC.Agency is the family's HVAC marketing service, and HVAC.Accountant sits beside it as the numbers-first practice.
What we are not
Two things we say on every page, because they matter:
- We are not accountants or a CPA firm. We do not keep books, prepare tax returns, perform audits or reviews, issue financial statements, or give tax advice. Your own CPA handles all of that. We do not refer you to, or name, partner accounting firms.
- We are not an HVAC contractor. We do not install, repair or service any equipment, and we never compete with our clients for customers.
What we do is business and marketing coaching built around financial KPIs. If a question crosses into accounting or tax, we say so and hand it back to your CPA.
Ali Sedighi, MBA
Ali's credential is an MBA in Technology Management. His working life in marketing goes back 17+ years, to 2007 and the launch of ONE.ir, a full-service digital marketing agency he founded. Today his home and his work are both in Vancouver, British Columbia.
Conv.ca, a conversion-rate optimisation agency, and MyAutomation.ca are two more of the businesses he founded, both built on measuring what turns a visitor into a customer. Over the years his client list has spanned Canada, the USA and Dubai.
In HVAC specifically, Ali has built 150+ live HVAC websites, including CombiBoiler.ca, GasBoilers.ca, HVACDeal.ca and BCWide.ca. That work is why the KPIs on this site look the way they do: every campaign he has run for an HVAC company eventually came down to the same questions about margin, booked jobs and cash.
How we work
The method is deliberately plain.
- Your data, your systems. We work from exports and reports you already have. We do not need access to your accounting file and never post entries in it.
- Definitions before numbers. Every KPI gets a written definition agreed with you, and it does not change without a reason.
- Targets from your history. We set targets from your own past performance and pricing, not from industry averages we cannot verify.
- Arithmetic you can check. Every figure on your dashboard can be traced back to a source line.
- One action per problem. Each flagged number gets a single next step with a name and a date.
What a first month looks like
Owners often ask what actually happens once they say yes. The first month is mostly listening and plumbing. We ask for a short list of exports, agree how your job types are coded, and write down what each KPI means for your company. By the end of the month you see a first draft of the dashboard, with every line traced to a report you recognise.
The second and third months are about targets. We look back at two years of your own history, agree where each line should sit, and settle on the tolerance that turns a number red. From the fourth month, the review becomes routine: twenty or thirty minutes by phone, a written note of actions, and a check on last month's actions before anything else.
Why HVAC only
HVAC has a cost structure unlike most trades: big-ticket equipment, a sharp seasonal peak, maintenance agreements and a mix of emergency and planned work. Generic small-business dashboards miss most of that. Focusing on one industry means the twelve lines on your owner dashboard are the right twelve.
Where to go next
See the services overview to choose a starting point, read the results from our HVAC marketing work, or check pricing. When you are ready, call, text or email with last month's numbers, however rough.
Frequently asked questions
Why is a KPI service called HVAC.Accountant?
The name describes the subject, the numbers, not a profession. We are not accountants and do not hold ourselves out as a CPA firm. Owners search for help with HVAC finances, and the site explains clearly that the books and tax stay with their own CPA.
Who will I actually work with?
Ali Sedighi leads every engagement. Any additional support needed for a particular piece of work is set out in your written proposal.
Do you work only in British Columbia?
No. We are based in Vancouver and work with HVAC companies in every province and territory, by video call or in person as well as by phone, text and email.
How does this relate to HVAC.Agency?
HVAC.Agency is the marketing arm of the same family. HVAC.Accountant focuses on the KPIs; HVAC.Agency runs campaigns and websites. You can use one without the other.
